September 10, 2019, Banff, Alberta – This fall, visitors can experience the larch season in a new and convenient way. Together, the Bow Valley Regional Transit Services Commission (BVRSTC) and Parks Canada are excited to announce a Roam Public Transit route direct from downtown Banff to Moraine Lake.

“Moraine Lake is an iconic destination, especially during the larch season, so The Commission is incredibly proud to support the sustainability of this Canadian treasure by making it a part of our transit network,” CAO of BVRTSC Martin Bean says.

The new direct route to Moraine Lake will depart from the Banff High School Transit Hub several times a day from Monday, Sept. 23 to Monday, Oct. 14. The price of a return fare for adults will be $20. This new route is in addition to several initiatives to and within Banff National Park that make for a well-integrated transit experience.

With the success of Roam Public Transit services this summer, Roam is also extending its summer schedule to Sunday, Sept. 22 for the following routes: Banff Local (1,2), Canmore-Banff Regional (3), Lake Louise Express (8X)  and On-It’s Calgary to Banff service. In addition, On-It riders can transfer for no charge onto any local Roam transit within either Canmore or Banff. This week is the last opportunity to experience transit to Lake Minnewanka the Cave and Basin and Johnston Canyon (9) as those services end for the season after September 15.
