Sunflower Program

The Sunflower Program

Roam Public Transit is dedicated to supporting individuals with hidden disabilities through the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program. By displaying the Sunflower symbol, individuals can discreetly signal to staff and fellow passengers that they may require additional time, assistance, or understanding while traveling with Roam Public Transit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Hidden Disability?

While some disabilities are visible, many are not immediately apparent to others. Non-visible disabilities can be temporary, situational, or permanent and may include neurological, cognitive, neurodevelopmental, physical, visual, auditory, sensory, and processing challenges. They can also encompass respiratory conditions, rare diseases, and chronic illnesses such as asthma and diabetes.

With such diverse conditions come unique access needs and barriers in daily life. By choosing to wear the Sunflower, you can discreetly signal your needs in shops, workplaces, on public transport, or in other public spaces.
