Lake Louise-Banff Regional Service

The Regional Service between Banff and Lake Louise provides a quick, convenient, and environmentally conscious way to travel. Leave your vehicle where it is, and enjoy the scenery as you travel between these two world class destinations. 

  • Currently, buses run eleven times a day on our fall, winter, spring 2023/24 schedule.
  • Trip travel time between the two destinations is roughly 48 minutes and stops are conveniently located in downtown Banff, and lower and upper Lake Louise.
  • Buses on this Route provide complimentary WiFi for passengers.

Summer 2024 Reservations
Roam Transits summer 8X Banff - Lake Louise Express service begins Friday, May 17th 2024.

To access both Lake Louise and Moraine Lake with Roam Transit you must purchase a Reservable Super Pass. This pass secures a round-trip reservation for the 8X Banff - Lake Louise service, as well as unlimited travel on all Roam Transit services for the day, and includes a round-trip on Parks Canada’s Lake Connector Shuttle from Lake Louise Lakeshore to Moraine Lake (during the Shuttles operating hours only).

Only the Reservable Super Pass allows riders access to the Moraine Lake Connector Shuttle, no other Roam Transit fare option includes access to Moraine Lake.

Moraine Lake Road is scheduled to open June 1st, so any Super Pass tickets purchased for May 17th - May 31st will not include the Parks Canada Connector Shuttle to Moraine Lake.

Additional information including; schedule, fare, detailed reservation information and a finalized ticket release date will be available on our website by April 29th.

Reservations are currently open for our winter 8X service until May 16th.

Customer Convenience
Roam services to Lake Louise feature complimentary WiFi and the space for 3 bicycles on every bus.
Roam fares are paid on the bus and fare boxes accept Canadian and American currency. Please be aware that fare boxes do no provide change - exact fare is required. You may also buy tickets from Token Transit and from ticket vending machines in Lake Louise and in Banff.

All Roam routes and buses are equipped with real-time tracking information to let you know when your next bus will be arriving. Many Roam bus stops features digital signage displaying arrival times; if you use a Roam stop without an LED sign, you can use your mobile device to check the real time location of all Roam buses on our Live Bus Locations page. All buses are equipped with the same electronic fare collection system (smart cards) as the Roam local service in Banff.
