Due to the Canada Day parades happening in Banff and Canmore on July 1 there will be significant detours and service changes in place to all routes. Please be advised that the live bus locations on Transit App and our website from 4-6:30 p.m. will not be available.

Please read about the changes and detours below:

Banff

Route 1:

• The pedestrian zone is closed to buses all day and Route 1 will detour along Beaver St. stopping at the temporary stop at Beaver St. and Wolf St.
• There will be no service between 4 to 6:30 p.m. to the bus stops from Rotary park to Banff Park Museum and YWCA to Hotel Canoe
• From 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. there will be two Route 1 buses that loop from the Gondola down to the Luxton Museum every 15 minutes.
• Additionally, there will be a Route 1 bus operating between the Industrial Compound and Marmot Crescent every 20 mins from 4 to 6:20 p.m.
• Will resume regular service at 6:28 p.m. at Marmot Crescent.

Route 2:

• The pedestrian zone is closed to buses all day and Route 2 will detour along Beaver St. stopping at the temporary stop at Beaver St. and Wolf St.
• There will be no service between 4 to 6:30 p.m. to the bus stops from Muskrat Nth to Banff Park Museum and YWCA to Banff Highschool Field.
• From 4:15 to 6:25 p.m. there will be one bus operating between the Fairmont Banff Springs to Luxton Museum every 20 mins.
• Additionally, there will be two Route 2 buses operating between the Tunnel Mountain Village 1 stop and Wolf St. stop every 15 mins.
• Will resume regular service at 6:36 p.m. from Tunnel Mountain Village 1.

Route 4:

• The pedestrian zone is closed to buses all day and Route 4 will detour along Beaver St. stopping at the temporary stop at Beaver St. and Wolf St.
• There will be no service between 4 to 6:30 p.m. to the bus stops from YWCA to Elk St Transit Hub.
• Beginning at 4:24 p.m. Route 4 will do laps between the Bow Falls and the Cave & Basin until it’s end of service.

Route 3:

There will be no service to the Banff Highschool Transit Hub, Fox St., Hotel Canoe, Hawk Ave Industrial stops between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. for Route 3.

Please proceed to the Elk St. Banff Train Station stop for service to Canmore at the below departure times.

• 4:14 p.m.
• 4:40 p.m.
• 5:06 p.m.
• 5:24 p.m.
• 5:50 p.m.
• 6:16 p.m.
• 6:34 p.m.

Route 6:

There will be no service to the Banff Highschool Transit Hub, Fox St. and Hotel Canoe stops between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. for Route 6.

Please proceed to the Elk St. Banff Train Station stop for service to Lake Minnewanka at the below departure times.

• 4:05 p.m.
• 4:40 p.m.
• 5:15 p.m.
• 5:50 p.m.
• 6:55 p.m.

Route 9:

Please proceed to the Elk St. Banff Train Station stop for service to Johnston Canyon at the below departure times.

• 4:55 p.m.
• 6:25 p.m.

Route 8X:

Please proceed to the Elk St. Banff Train Station stop for service to Lake Louise at the below departure times.

• 4:00 p.m.
• 5:00 p.m.
• 5:45 p.m.
• 6:50 p.m.

Canmore

Route 5C:

• From 10:30 a.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m. the Canmore Shopping Area stops, Canmore Collegiate North, Canmore Seniors Lodge W, 9th Street, Shopper Drug Mart stops are closed, please proceed to the Elevation Place stop for service for Cougar Creek.

Route 5T:

• From 11 a.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m. the Canmore Collegiate stops, 8th Ave, Arts Place, Seniors Lodge East, Railway Ave W and 9th Street are close please proceed to the temporary stop at Rundle Cres. for service to Three Sisters.

Route 3:

• From 10:30 a.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m. the Canmore Collegiate North, Seniors Lodge West, 9th Street and Shoppers Drug Mart are closed. Please proceed to the Bow Valley Trail or Benchlands Overpass stops for service to Banff.

Route 12:

• From 10:30 a.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m. the downtown stops and Spring Creek Bound stops are closed. Please proceed to the temporary stop at Rundle Cres stop for service to Grassi Lakes Trailhead.
