Downtown Banff Pedestrian Zone reopening – buses temporarily rerouted

As summer season is approaching, the Town of Banff is preparing to reopen the Pedestrian Zone in Downtown Banff, which will result in temporary bus rerouting.
The Downtown Pedestrian Zone between Wolf and Buffalo streets, and the adjacent sections of Caribou Street will reopen to pedestrians, cyclists, skateboarders and Roam buses from May 19 to October 13.
In preparation for the reopening, the area will be closed to all traffic from May 15 to May 19. Banff Local Routes 1 and 2 will be rerouted at that time.
– During this time, the following stops will be closed:
❌ Downtown Caribou West
❌ Downtown Wolf West
❌ Downtown Caribou East
❌ Downtown Buffalo East
Temporary stops for buses going both directions will be located at:
🚏 the corner of Caribou and Beaver Street (by the Banff Fire Hall).
Once the pedestrian zone reopens, both route 1 and 2 will run according to new increased Summer schedules that will be available online shortly.
