Route 9 is currently operating on weekends and stat holidays only.

Direct service between Banff and one of Banff National Park’s most popular destinations via Castle Junction. This service is available for weekend and statutory holidays only excluding Christmas day in the fall and winter season.

When is Johnston Canyon Route 9 scheduled to start?

The Route 9 Johnston Canyon winter, spring and fall service operates only on the weekends (Sat-Sun) and Stat Holidays (excluding Christmas Day). The service will run daily during Summer 2025, please check back in the spring for more information.

Where does the route go?

This service departs from The Banff High School Transit Hub. From here the bus travels directly to Johnston Canyon via Highway 1 and Castle Junction.

What does it cost to ride the Johnston Canyon service?

Johnston Canyon single ride fares for 2024 are $5 for Adult and $2.50 for Seniors/Youth & Children under 12 travel free.
